Three of the women on this list are already 27. They will all be qualified if the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 coronation night takes places before they turn 28.
Following the tradition of Bb. Pilipinas, the national beauty pageant usually takes place either in March or April. Here are the dates when these possible candidates are turning 28:
Mutya Datul: April 17, 2020
Teresita Marquez: May 4, 2020
Katarina Rodriguez: August 1, 2020

I recently discovered that writing in my pjs like many do, it doesn’t really work for me. I need to be fully dressed. I like to be aesthetically in order and it gives some orders to my thoughts too.
Ireland’s pubs are to me…
This is interesting. Being a person with a very sweet tooth I might prefer coffee shops but I love the cozy atmosphere of good old fashion pub where people of every age meet and relax. I still remember our first local pub, just after we moved to Dublin, with its tartan carpet, leather armchairs and soft lights.
My personal favorite designers are…
Tom Ford, Ferragamo, Etro
You’ll never see me wearing…
Crop tops as they won’t go well with my forties belly, and 12” heels —being already nearly 5 foot 8, I would look like a camel struggling to balance.
My favorites accessories are…
Pearl on top of everything and necklaces, shoes, bags, earring, bangles…..yes, I love my accessories!
My style icon is…
Isabela Rossellini, then, now and forever.
In Black Souls, my second murder-mystery, detective McCabe is…
He is not. Readers will be introduced to a duo liner detective, Enda McCarthey, and a fiery Italian inspector, Furio Zamparelli.
Black Souls will be available on the…

The Miss Universe Organization expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Araneta Group and Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. for their more than 50 years of stewardship of the Miss Universe brand and franchise in the Philippines. Both organizations have made an indelible mark in the international pageant scene for celebrating the intelligence, beauty and grace of hundreds of Filipina queens, and for garnering several international titles through the years. Undeniably, the most prestigious of these titles continues to be the coveted Miss Universe Philippines. The foundation and fundamentals of Philippine Pageantry are known worldwide to be solid and shall endure all because of the hard work and commitment of the Araneta Group and BPCI.
Today is a momentous occasion as the country and the Miss Universe Organization focus their collective gaze towards the future of pageantry. It is but fitting that the path to the future be led with vigor and a vision aligned with the transformative purpose of Miss Universe. The Miss Universe Organization is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Miss Universe Philippines Organization – a fresh team that will lead the country towards its continued quest to share the beauty and grace of the Filipina to the rest of the world.
The new organization will be headed by Shamcey Supsup as the National Director. She will be joined by Albert Andrada as the Design Council Head, Jonas Gaffud as the Creative Director, Lia Ramos as Head of Women Empowerment Committee and Charity, Atty. Nad Bronce as Head of Legal Affairs, and Mario Garcia as Business Development/ Marketing Head.
Rooted in the same strong foundations that have earned the country title after title in the past half century, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization is poised to bring the Miss Universe franchise to greater heights. More importantly, it is the continued support of the pageant fans and community that inspires the Miss Universe Organization to take this crucial step forward. With the Filipina at the center of it all, a bright and beautiful future lies ahead.

If anything MU2019 showed that they can drop the Philippines from going further in the competition without fear of its fans. They could do it again next year. MUP could have the same fate of Diva in India.Wag lang sana magdagdag ng minor titles ang MUP like what MWP did. It really cheapens it. If they do, sana hinayaan na lang nila sa BBP ang MUP. 2 1 Rate ThisReply

iP4Jon December 9, 2019 at 17:30 said:Upsetting, but not surprised. It’s time to stop relegating MU worthy women to “lesser” national titles and start having a separate pageant to focus on finding the woman to send to MU and not worry about the numerous other titles. I would have loved to see previous queens like Patch and Kylie represent the PI on the MU stage but that will never happen. Above all, I hope MUP will now have better production and better camera work. BBP seems like a cheap show despite how successful they’ve been the past few years in producing international winners. 1 2 Rate ThisReply

I cannot imagine BPCI without MUP. MUP is BPCI’s life blood and reason for being. Kapag tinanggal nyo sa kanila ang MUP para nyo na rin silang pinatay. Whether there is life for BPCI after MUP, your guess is as good as mine. 3 8 Rate ThisReply

I’d like Megan Young but it would be bizarre to have double-titles and looks desperate. Nicole Cordoves is a good speaker, but sometimes I still dream of the likes of Mutya Datul, Anne Colis, Kris Janson, and Karel Gallman’s face up there. Patch Magtanong still needs time to tone up some muscles. Wow the list goes on, I am sure we will see a lot of familiar faces. 0 6 Rate ThisReply

Though i am okay with MUP being with BPCI BUT with other people heading / training the MUP candidate. But then again, maybe it is about time. Shamce Supsup will be the national director. BUT will she really has a say? I mean baka mamaya mas masusunod pa din si Jonas. LOL But i believe naman in Shamcey. she’s one of the smartest MUP we had so.. yeah, plus Albert Andrada as the design council head.. sana lang kahit siya na ang design council head, madamitan pa rin ng ibang designer ang MUP..Now it kinda sunk in na pwde sigurong kaya di tayo pina advance is to stop na the streak bpci had and it’s time na talaga na magchange of guards.. Okay lang sakin ngayon.. huwag lang si Chavit ang kukuha. LOLBut guys, sana we still support BPCI. afterall, BPCI is still BPCI kahit na wala na ang MUP. let’s show them love and support pag BBP season na. aminin niyo, mas exciting, mas competitive pag BBP season. hindi mo alam sino ang makakakuha ng anong title. LOLBut I wonder bakit hindi nila napili si Pia as part of the MUPo also Cat. but then again, maybe mas alam nila yan. lol 0 3 Rate ThisReply

Ana Winteron December 9, 2019 at 15:47 said:The plot is timing.I just had a wild thought that the MUO did not let Gazini advance to the top 10 because, if they did, our rep might continuously make it to the top 10, 6, or eventually be declared a back-to-back MU winner, who knows, right? And that would peril the supposed pulling off of the franchise from the BPCI.Anyway, I am a bit emotional because I am going to miss the grandiose annual BbP parade at the Araneta Center with MUP as the top crown. Oh, no! I hope it would not halt our continuous streak in MU. Look at what happened to India and Venezuela when they had change of guards in their MUP franchise! I hope I am wrong. The new MUPO will be manned by the experts in pageantry led by Jonas Gaffud. I thought his assignment as MUP consultant was his apprentice as a prelude to becoming the MUPO Creative Director. Congratulations and good luck!P.S. Tito Norms, now that MUO has spoken that it is indeed Gazini who won the Best in National Costume, Mama Cary’s creation deserves a space in your blog. I believe Indonesia is not beautiful and stunning enough to be in the top 10 though the communication skill is remarkable and our Gazini speaks better than Peru and France. I felt Gazini was sacrificed to pursue this transition. Well, Miss Universe 2019 is over. We can only move on and hope to find another strong representative next year. 1 0 Rate ThisReply
